VOLUNTEER PROGRAM NEEDS YOU!

Become a part of the Rockland educational team! Share your time...your experience...your knowledge with the children of Rockland. The importance of volunteers in our schools cannot be overemphasized. They provide a variety of services that help teachers and administrators to provide better and more services to our school children. Whether you volunteer once a year, once a week or every day, your time is valuable ...valuable to you and to the Rockland Public Schools. A variety of tasks can be accomplished by school volunteers including direct services to children and support services for the overall school program. Specific examples? Listen to a child read or practice multiplication tables...help a child write a story...work in the computer lab...address newsletters...decorate bulletin boards...catalog books in the library...read stories to children...chaperone field trips. The list is extensive and you can find a task on the list that suits your needs and abilities. If you have never volunteered before, don't let that stop you! Orientation sessions will be held in September and regularly during the months that follow. If you don't have school age children...or have never had children, don't let that hold you back. Good volunteers come from all different backgrounds and each brings something unique to the program. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your building principal.
